Meet Amir Myles - Amir Myles is passionate about helping young people reach their potential. He runs an athletic development company focused on youth and also leads a nonprofit serving middle and high school students. When he is not working with the next generation, Amir stays highly active in his community, showing up for events, games, giveaways, and the many opportunities to connect with and support the people around him.
Amir comes from a big, blended family. He has four parents and nine siblings, with both of his parents having been remarried to their respective spouses for more than 28 years. Family clearly means a lot to Amir, and so does staying connected to the community he calls home.
When it comes to dancing, Amir has a simple philosophy: he likes to dance, he just does not have any rhythm. But he is not letting that stop him. This year, he is ready to step onto the Dancing for the Arts stage, learn a few new moves, and see what he can do.

The Cabarrus Arts Council was founded in 1980 in response to the North Carolina Arts Council's plan to establish a local arts council in every county. In 1982 the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners selected the arts council to serve as its Designated County Partner, receiving and distributing Grassroots funding from the state and the state arts council.
Today the arts council programs and operates the Davis Theatre and The Galleries, conducts one of North Carolina's largest art-in-education programs for both the Cabarrus County and Kannapolis City school systems, supports arts organizations and artists through grants and workshops and serves as a catalyst and consultant for public and corporate art.
